Sakura
🌸Cherry blossom - is a collective name for cherries and plums. The cherry blossom collection at the Sochi Arboretum is the largest in our country and includes 23 varieties.
Uniqueness of the place — it is an oasis of calm and aesthetics, ideal for photo walks, meditative relaxation, and getting acquainted with botanical diversity.
🗺️Location and design: trees are planted on terraces with views of the sea and mountains, along winding paths with comfortable benches and arches. In spring, the area is immersed in flowers and fragrance, creating the atmosphere of traditional Japanese hanami.
🌸🌸🌸Blooming season: In warm years, blooming begins in late February. And every year there is intrigue: which variety will bloom first? Among the traditional pioneers of blooming are varieties: Yedo cherry Shidare-Yoshino, semi-hairy weeping cherry (equinox), Lanesa cherry Surugudai-Nioi (Fragrant), and Siebold cherry Beni-Yutaka.
The main peak of blooming falls in early April. The season of admiring cherry blossoms ends in May, when the latest variety - common cherry Rexa - fades.
In autumn, the collection delights with bright foliage in golden-crimson tones.
ℹ️ Environmental education: information boards with species names, introduction history, and care features are installed near the collection — useful for botany enthusiasts and families with children.
