Imeretinskaya Embankment

Imeretinskaya Embankment is the most modern, wide, and well-equipped promenade in Sochi, stretching for 7 kilometers along the Black Sea coast in the settlement of Sirius (Imeretinskaya Lowland). Built for the 2014 Olympic Games, it offers an ideal space for both active and leisurely relaxation. It features 14 equipped beaches, spacious bike paths, green zones with palm trees, and numerous cafes. The main feature of the embankment is its scale and thoughtful infrastructure: there is no chaotic construction, and panoramic sea views are combined with the architecture of the Olympic Park. An ideal choice for cycling, jogging, family beach holidays, and evening strolls to the sound of the surf. It is popular year-round.

ℹ️Features of the embankment:

Infrastructure and comfort: modern wide pedestrian and bicycle paths, with streetlights, benches, and drinking fountains. Bicycle, scooter, and Segway rental points. Children's and sports playgrounds. Cafes and restaurants with sea views for any budget, including self-service cafes. Shops with all necessary supplies.

Beach area: 14 different beaches (both free municipal and private with premium service), clean water, gentle entry, and lifeguard towers.

Landscape and greening: a subtropical park along the entire coastline, including palm trees, cypresses, and flower beds; many shady areas.

Location: connects the Olympic Park with the border of Russia and Abkhazia (Psou River), passing by key infrastructure objects of Sirius.

✅Who it is suitable for:

Sports enthusiasts— a flat, long surface without elevation changes, safe movement away from cars, ideal for jogging and cycling. Volleyball courts, pull-up bars — everyone will find their way to keep fit.

Families with children — clean beaches, children's playgrounds, cafes with children's menus, and attractions for kids.

Couples and romantics — picturesque sunsets, the sound of the sea and views of the mountains, cozy cafes, and the opportunity to find privacy on benches in the park area to enjoy the singing fountains.

Travelers who appreciate modern service — high service culture, cleanliness, order, and aesthetics of the space.

📝Practical tips:

How to get there: the embankment is located in the settlement of Sirius. The most convenient way is to take a train to the "Imeretinsky Kurort" or "Olympic Park" stations, or by bus/taxi. Access to the embankment is possible at any point along the entire coastline.

Footwear and clothing: comfortable shoes for walking or cycling. A swimsuit, as the path runs along the beach. It can be cool by the sea in the evening, so bring a windbreaker.

Best time: morning for jogging and cycling (fewer people, fresh air); evening for romantic walks and watching the sunset. It can be hot during the day in summer, so it is better to use shady areas.

Rental: there are many bicycle and electric scooter rental points along the entire embankment.

Food: numerous cafes, restaurants, and food courts both on the embankment itself and in the Olympic Park.

Integration into the location: The embankment is the central axis of the Imeretinskaya Lowland. On one side, it borders the Olympic Park (Medal Plaza, singing fountains), and on the other, it leads to the border with Abkhazia. Nearby are the Ornithological Park, the "Southern Cultures" dendropark, theme parks ("Sochi Park"), hotels, and residential complexes. It is the heart of the Sirius resort district.

Opening hours: 24/7 (free access).
